"The Resurrection of Christ"

                         Mk.15:47-16:11

 cornerstone of the Christian faith...crowning event in the  life of

 Jesus....foundation...debated by some and doubted  by others...

 accept it without reservation because we haveencountered the risen

 Christ...not an argument to bedebated...an announcement to be

 declared...we worship a living Christ!

I-The Prophecy of Christ's Resurrection

  A-in the Old Testament

    1-predicted by the patriarchs

    2-proclaimed by the prophets

    3-promised in the Psalms

      a-Job 19:25 (cradle...cross...consumation)

      b-confidence (v.26-27)****keeps me going*****

   B-in the New Testament

     1-Jn.2:19:"Destroy this temple,and in 3 days I will raise

        it up."

     2-Mt.17:22:"Jesus said unto them,The Son of man shall

        be betrayed into the hands of men:and they shall kill

        him,and the 3rd day he shall be raised again.And thry

        were exceeding sorry."****we act like He's dead!!***

 II-The Proof of Christ's Resurrection

    A-The Lord's appearances

       1-to reward love (v.9-11)

         a-**Jesus Christ Superstar:rock musical****

            b-**dandelions**  loves me ,loves me not*****

          2-to restore hope (v.12-13)  Lk.24

          a-***music of today,literature...lost hope

          3-to renew faith (v.14)

      B-The Lord's assignment

        1-proclamation (v.15)

          a-"preach"-to announce as a herald...an ambassador who

               had an announcement to make for a king!!!****Bele Chere

           2-reception (v.16)

           a-"believe"...baptism confirms it!!!

            3-confirmation (v.17-18)

       C-The Lord's ascension

          1-His heavenly reception (v.19)

          2-our earthly mission (v.20)

             a-Christ promised it...the scriptures testify to it...empty

                   tomb established it...disciples preached it...believers

                   exhibited it...Risen Christ proved it..church witnesses to

                   it...observance of Sunday declares it(mourn a defeat-

                   celebrate a victory!!!!!****preach!!!!!!!!!!!!*******

                 b-****more interested in beating the crowd to the rest..

    III-The Pattern of Christ's Resurrection

        A-means to stand up or to raise up

            1-always has to do with the body and never the soul

          B-first of it's kind (never to die again) ***Lazarus**

             1-real body

             2-recognizable body

             3-supernatural (walk thru walls)***

     IV-The Provision of Christ's Resurrection

        A-a faith which cannot be destroyed

          B-a forgiveness which cannot be denied

          C-a future which does not end with death
